From regional roads contractor to national infrastructure powerhouse — our story is written in kilometres of highway and millions of cubic metres of concrete.
Cornerstone Group was founded in 1989 by a trio of civil engineers with a singular ambition: to build infrastructure that would serve Sri Lanka for generations. Beginning with small road rehabilitation contracts in the Western Province, the company grew methodically — never pursuing scale at the expense of quality or safety.
By the late 1990s, Cornerstone had secured its first national infrastructure mandate — the reconstruction of the Kelani Valley road network following severe floods. That project established our reputation for crisis-response capability and earned us our first government framework contract.
Today, Cornerstone Group operates across all nine provinces of Sri Lanka, with a permanent workforce of over 1,800 and a plant fleet valued at LKR 12 billion. We are a preferred contractor for the Road Development Authority, the National Water Supply & Drainage Board, and multiple multilateral development bank-funded programmes.
Three civil engineers incorporate Cornerstone Group (Pvt) Ltd. First project: road rehabilitation in Gampaha District.

Our SafeFirst management framework is not a compliance checklist — it is a lived culture. Every Cornerstone employee, subcontractor, and site visitor operates under our mandatory safety induction, and every project has a dedicated Safety Officer with full authority to halt work where required.
We honour our commitments to clients, communities, and colleagues. No project and no deadline is worth compromising our honesty.
Every person on our sites returns home healthy. Safety is non-negotiable at every level of the organisation.
We do not settle for adequate. From specification compliance to finish quality, we pursue excellence in everything we build.
Infrastructure should serve future generations. We integrate environmental management into every stage of every project.
We actively engage with the communities our projects serve — employing locally, investing in skills, and minimising disruption.
We invest in technology, research, and modern construction methods to deliver smarter, faster, and more durable outcomes.
