We Exist to Lift
Communities Up

Born from a single belief: that financial exclusion is a solvable problem. NovaMicro Finance has spent 17 years proving it — one loan, one family, one dream at a time.

Our Foundation

Built by the Community,
For the Community

NovaMicro Finance was founded in 2008 by Dr. Saman Wickramasinghe and a group of 12 social entrepreneurs who had witnessed firsthand how lack of access to small loans kept hardworking people trapped in cycles of poverty.

Starting with just Rs. 500,000 in seed capital and a tiny office in Pettah, Colombo, we disbursed our first 23 loans to market vendors and home-based artisans. Seventeen years later, we've grown to 32 branches serving 50,000+ borrowers — but our core belief hasn't changed: every person deserves financial dignity.

Mission

To provide accessible, dignified financial services that empower underserved entrepreneurs to build sustainable livelihoods.
