What to bring

  • Valid Government Photo ID

    National ID card, passport, or driver's licence

  • Insurance Card & Policy Number

    For direct billing — original card required

  • Previous Medical Records & Reports

    Lab results, imaging CDs, referral letters

  • Current Medications List

    All prescribed and over-the-counter medications with dosages

  • Appointment Confirmation

    SMS confirmation or printed appointment slip

Fasting requirements: If your consultation may involve blood tests or certain scans, please fast for at least 8 hours prior. Water is permitted.

General Wards

Morning

Evening

4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

ICU / CCU / NICU

2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

One visitor at a time. Prior approval from nursing station required.

Children's Ward

Parents: 24 hours

Other visitors: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Maternity Ward

Partners: 24 hours

Other visitors: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Visiting hours may be adjusted during public holidays and at ward discretion. Please call ahead to confirm.

Insurance & Direct Billing

We have direct billing arrangements with all major insurance providers. Present your card at reception and we handle the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

No referral is required for most specialties at Meridian. You can book directly with our specialists through our appointments line or online. However, some insurance policies may require a GP referral for reimbursement — please check with your insurer.
Medical records can be requested in person at the Medical Records Office on the Ground Floor (Main Branch). You will need a valid photo ID and, for third-party requests, a signed authorisation form. Records are typically available within 5 working days.
Yes. All three branches have covered multi-level parking facilities. Parking is complimentary for the first 2 hours for outpatient visits when validated at the reception desk. Long-term rates apply for inpatient visitors.
We welcome a single support person in most consultations. For complex discussions or procedures, we encourage family members to be present. Our Patient Relations team can arrange an interpreter if required.
Our specialists consult in Sinhala, Tamil, and English. Please inform us of your language preference when booking and we will match you with a consultant or provide an interpreter.
