Marcus Harrington

Criminal Defense Attorney · Former Prosecutor · Chicago, Illinois

I Built This Practice Because I Saw the System From Both Sides

I spent six years as an Assistant State's Attorney for Cook County, Illinois. I prosecuted felonies — violent crimes, drug offenses, DUIs. I was good at it. And I learned, intimately, how prosecution teams think, how they build cases, and — critically — where they cut corners.

After watching too many defendants get steamrolled by a system that wasn't giving them a fair fight, I left. I started Harrington Law in 2004 with one mission: provide the kind of defense that levels the playing field.

I've now handled over 1,200 criminal cases. I've taken cases to trial when everyone else said plead guilty. I've won dismissals on constitutional grounds that other attorneys missed. And I've personally answered every phone call, appeared at every hearing, and argued every motion.

"The prosecution has unlimited resources. My clients deserve an attorney who compensates for that with absolute commitment."

Why Solo Practice Matters

Big law firms make sense for corporate clients. For someone facing criminal charges, they're often the wrong choice. At a large firm, your case gets passed to junior associates. The partner who sold you the retainer is rarely the one in the courtroom.

At Harrington Law, there is no delegation. I handle your case. I know every detail, every witness, every piece of evidence. That continuity isn't a luxury — it's the difference between a good defense and a great one.
