The Estate Is Your Itinerary.
We don't schedule your days. We offer you a menu of moments — each one rooted in this place and its three-hundred-year story.
From Leaf to Cup — The Complete Story.
Morning Estate Walk
Walk the terraces at dawn with Chaminda, our estate manager. Learn to identify flush from rest, watch the pluckers work, understand how altitude shapes flavour. The mist at this hour is extraordinary.
Tea Making & Processing
Follow freshly plucked leaves through the full orthodox process — withering, rolling, oxidation, firing. Taste the tea at each stage of production. Take home 100g of your own estate-made tea.
Tea Tasting & Blending
A guided vertical tasting of six Ceylon teas from different elevations and seasons — White, Green, Black, and two single-garden surprises. Create your own personal blend to take home.
300 Acres of Living Landscape.
Dawn Bird Walk
The estate and surrounding forest are home to 47 recorded species including the Sri Lanka Blue Magpie, the Yellow-eared Bulbul, and the Sri Lanka Junglefowl. Guided with binoculars provided.
Forest Walk to the Falls
A guided walk through the estate's upper forest boundary to a private waterfall accessible only to Ceylon Heights guests. Picnic breakfast included — packed by Kumari herself.
Botanical Garden Walk
A curated walk through the estate's working kitchen garden — herbs, spices, vegetables — ending with a tasting of what's growing. Understand where your dinner comes from, quite literally.
The People Who Made This Land.
Estate Village Visit
Walk to the Tamil estate village with Chaminda as guide. Meet the workers' families, see inside a working Tamil home, understand the social fabric of the estate. One of the most moving experiences we offer.
Kumari's Kitchen
Join Kumari in the kitchen for a half-day cooking class. Learn to make hoppers, dhal, a proper pol sambol, and the estate's famous love cake. Then sit down and eat what you've made.
Batik with the Estate Community
A morning batik workshop run by members of the estate community. Learn the wax-resist technique, design your own cloth, and take home a unique piece made with your own hands in the highlands.
Beyond the Estate Gates.
Horton Plains & World's End
A half-day excursion to Horton Plains National Park, including the dramatic cliff edge known as World's End with a 870m drop to the plains below. We drive you to the park entrance at dawn for the clearest views.
Nuwara Eliya Town & Hakgala Gardens
Nuwara Eliya's colonial-era town centre, the flower market, the colonial post office, and the extraordinary Hakgala Botanical Gardens — one of Sri Lanka's finest. We arrange a guided half-day.
The Kandy Train
The Colombo–Badulla line through the hill country is genuinely one of the world's great train journeys. We put you on the train at Nanu Oya station and collect from Kandy — or vice versa. A magnificent way to arrive or depart.
Adam's Peak Sunrise Pilgrimage
For the adventurous: a night-time ascent of Sri Pada (Adam's Peak) to reach the summit for sunrise. 5,200 steps. One of the most extraordinary experiences in Sri Lanka. Seasonal: December to May only.
